UK Engineering Manager

Our client is a Global FMCG Distributor and we are delighted to assist them in their search for an experienced Engineering professional as they look to recruit a UK Engineering Manager (Head of Engineering for the UK), to be based at their flagship site in Heywood, Greater Manchester.
As the Engineering Manager, you will oversee 14 UK Logistics / Distribution facilities by providing direction, oversite, and operational support of all refrigeration, facility, and material handling equipment and general maintenance / PPM activities.
The Engineering Manager will initially have four main areas of focus:
To advise on and initiate action in all UK Maintenance and Engineering strategies, in consultation with the Director of Engineering EuropeShare and implement the best practices across the 14 sites, supporting a network of Maintenance Engineers (60 multi-skilled)Develop existing and new talent
The role involves oversight of technical staff in achieving operational efficiencies and budgeted improvement targets.Areas of focus include facility maintenance, refrigeration systems, material handling equipment and oversight of safety and compliance programs.
The ideal UK Engineering Manager Candidate:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years of successful distribution, manufacturing and / or warehouse engineering/maintenance management and leadership.Background to include experience of managing the engineering aspect of the various functional areas of refrigeration, MHE, building maintenance, warehouse automation, IT systems, and supply chain optimizationWell versed in Continuous Improvement Quality process (i.e. Six Sigma, ISO, Lean)Ideally, the Engineering Manager will also hold a Bachelor’s Degree.
