Transport Operations Commercial Manager – Multi-drop retail products
Milton Keynes
£48k + Bens + Car Allowance + Prospects
Our client is specialist distributor of time sensitive / perishable products related products. This relies on an effective supply chain via receipt via daily sea imports, decant at 3 separate site, quick loading onto multi-drop vans for distribution across the UK. They are now looking for a commercially focussed Transport Manager to run a small fleet of multi-drop vehicles across 3 sites.
Role summary:
Root & branch review of the existing transport operation
Analysis of financial performance, budgets & forecasts going forwards
Organise and control the supervision of all transport activities within the 3 depots in order to hit all depot & customer expectation targets / OTIF
Ensure ongoing compliance of the vehicle fleet & driver performance
Staff reviews, training & analysis
Manage the companies legal requirements of monitoring taco graphs
Regularly report on results, production of suite of reports and feedback to drivers and management.
Incident and accident reporting and the timely completion of investigation reports.
Monitor, evaluate and implement a delivery structure to improve customer lead times.
Ensure that the depots operates within the stated company quality assurance procedures.
To effectively route deliveries so as to fully utilise the depot fleet.
Contribute to the reduction in waste
Ensure drivers maintain regular vehicle checks & book and monitor regular vehicle inspections.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Experienced across transport including budgets, driver management/compliance, customer service, KPI’s, fleet compliance & route planning.
KPI driven & therefore strong data & performance analytical skills
Experience of fast-moving operations.
Highly numerate and literate.
Familiar with desk-top applications, and other IT interfaces, paperless deliveries, vehicle tracking.
