Supply Chain Manager - Bridgewater
£45k + Bens + Bonus + potential shares after year 2.
Strive supply chain are delighted to have been selected to work exclusively with a rapidly expanding SME automotive parts importer. They are experiencing significant growth in size & as such are now at a critical point. This therefore has created the need for a level of supply chain expertise to be brought into the business to facilitate process improvements & create a base for further expansion.
We are searching for an experienced candidate with the right attitude, prepared to be hands on in a “start up” environment & also have the ability to see the longer-term growth potential.
The role can be broadly spilt into 4 core areas – Purchasing, Inventory control, warehouse operations & inbound shipping. Reporting directly to the MD you will be responsible for the daily running of these functions & in particular the purchasing & inventory aspects.
Purchasing / Inventory Management
Day to day running of the Inventory function across c10k SKU’s ensuring full stock availability against forecast demand & KPI’s.Review & streamline current stock levels.Produce reports for the management team on purchasing performance. Work closely with other departments to improve service levels and efficiency.Creating, raising and sending purchase orders to suppliers using just in time principlesConfirming supplier receipt of purchase orders.Progressing outstanding purchase orders with suppliers to ensure stock availability at all times and then updating arrival dates.Maintenance of all re order points across all items.Liaising with internal and external sales personnel to provide detailed stock availability information.Responsible for perpetual stock check process.Utilising ERP systems and master data maintenance.Production and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures for stock control and purchasing activity, ensuring that use of the ERP system is maximised.
Responsible for the layout & storage of bulk and finished stock within the warehouse.Responsible for in-house kitting activity (assembling sub-assemblies from bulk stock.)Responsible for warehouse cleanliness & minimising stock write offs.Play a key role as a member of the management team in the implementation of paperless picking and stock replenishment project.Play a key role as a member of the management team in relocating the business to a new business unit to facilitate further growth.
Transport / Shipping
Deliver maximum fulfilment of sales orders in line with company KPI’s. Most orders are delivered next day, except for the large stock orders going to European stockists.
Outbound supplies are approx. 70% UK wide & 30% to the rest of Europe.Progression of shipping documents to ensure speedy clearance of imported goods.Payments for overseas suppliers relating to shipping documents.
This is a unique opportunity & needs a supply chain manager with wide exposure to each part of the process but with particular expertise across purchasing & stock control.
You will have an advanced knowledge of Excel
Knowledge of import procedures would be a huge benefit
Understanding of international shipping
Ability to communicate at all levels.
Experience of coaching & motivating a small team as well work independently and under pressure ensuring specific time frames.
