Strive Supply Chain are a leading management recruitment consultancy, specialising in Supply Chain, Production, Planning, Logistics, Transport & Warehouse Operations.
Our client is an award-winning food manufacturer and we are delighted to assist them in their search for a Supply Chain Manager at their site near Ripon on a Monday-Friday basis on a 12 month interim contract.
Reporting to the Operations Director, this role is accountable for formulating and publishing all production plans for the business and supply-demand from direct suppliers of finished goods as well as sharing a full understanding and taking the responsibility of all relevant legal requirements of the business including H&S, all aspects of technical compliance including; food safety & hygiene, legal labelling, employment law and any other aspect relevant.
Packing plans for our manufacturing sites as well as weekly issued detail planChristmas plans for both manufacturing sitesManagement of Procurement team, Planning + Logistics teamsService performance for supply to customers (Retail, Wholesale, Industrial and Export)Concession of any stockReturn or disposal of downgrade stockComparison of Forecast accuracy to production requirement.Construct & maintain 21-day packing schedule for factory, minimising changeovers and maximising service deliveryReview variances to projected stock position, challenging any that do not reconcile with previous day/week position, and verify daily production plan accordinglyLiaise with stores /purchasing teams with regards to raw material flow and adjust plans accordingly.Work closely with production and modify production plans if required (quality issues, staffing/skills shortage, manning levels, planned maintenance, process samples).Investigate finished goods short code & shortages to determine if a planning issue and implement corrective action where applicable.Work with the Site Manager to help drive improvement in delivery and operational efficiency
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience in a manufacturing/processing environment ideally from a food background
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be detail orientedExcellent people management skills with the ability to motivate & develop employeesExcellent organisation/prioritisation skillsProven critical thinking and problem-solving skillsSolid understanding of health & safety protocolsAdvanced Excel and computer skills a must
