Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Monday to Friday)

Our client is a Global PLC and we are delighted to assist them in their search for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer at their site in Seaham, County Durham on a Monday to Friday basis (8am to 4pm).
Reporting into the UK Engineering Manager, you will help provide preventative and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment within the facility.
The Role of Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer:
Resolve breakdowns, reduce downtime, and improve plant reliabilitySupport the maintenance and wider team in working together to solve problems to keep our facility movingMaintain, repair and perform evaluations on electrical apparatus, motors, wiring, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment per electrical codes and standardsMaintain, repair and perform evaluations on refrigeration systems, building infrastructure and material handling equipmentComplete work order tasks and ensure all performed work is logged into the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) dailyOperate cutting torch and other welding apparatus to cut or join metal partsMonitor contractors working on or near refrigeration systems, ensuring they are following all regulatory and company safety standards, policies, and proceduresUtilize onsite motorized lift as needed while operating, inspecting, calibrating, and maintaining equipmentAt times work at heights of up to 30 metres
The ideal Candidate for Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer:
Qualified in Electrical Engineering with Mechanical Engineering experience (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)Experience of working with automationApprenticeship trained would be a big advantageGood interpersonal skills and enjoy being in a teamWillingness to learn and improve your skillsComfortable with the cold - You will sometimes do this in a freezer environment – approximately minus 20 degrees – full PPE including coats, hats and boots given.
